Can Diabetes be beat, if so? How?

Your knowledge will be very appreciate. I am really scared b/c
I think I have developed this illness. Lately, I have been peeing a lot, dry mouth, and feel numbness at the bottom part of my legs especially if I not moving around. I like want to know if I can doing anything to revert the sickness.

The only cure for diabetes to date is a pancreas transplant. Other than that, there is no cure. There are people that will tell you that different herbs and natural crap will cure it, but this is NOT true and can actually do you harm. It is a money making scheme.....period. There is no clinical proof and if there was an herbal cure or some thing that worked better or as well as the drugs we use today, your doctor would be the first to tell you. You need to go to the doctor and get tested. If you are diagnosed, you need to watch your diet, stay away from sugar, anything with white flour, and keep the carbs on the low side. If you are type 2, it can be possible for you to control diabetes with diet and exercise, but not all type 2's are able to do this,....but many that don't know what they are talking about will tell you that all type 2 can control this way. Not true....some type 2's need oral medication or insulin, or both. Too many type 1 diabetics know absolutely nothing about type 2. You do not have to be overweight to have type 2....don't listen to those who tell you different...many times weight has nothing to do with it.
Here are some symptoms
Constant thirst
Frequent urination
Constant hunger
Unexplained weight gain or loss
Blurry vision
Leg cramps
Reoccurring yeast infection in women, itching penis in men
Frequent boils
Irritablility
Burning or tingling sensation in hands, arms, or feet and legss
Slow healing wounds
Headaches
Nausea or vomiting.
Don't be scared. It can be treated and controlled.

Hi Hope,

Well to answer your question more information is needed. Try to keep in mind that there are two types of diabetes; DM1 and DM2. DM1 is autoimmune which means your body attacks the production center of insulin in the pancreas (Beta Cells). In this case your only hope for now is insulin shots. There have been many advances in this specific field in trying to find a cure, as of yet none exist but some are on the horizon. The most promising as of now is the introduction of beta cells within your body. DM2 is multifactorial (many factors), but in the end it is characterized by insulin resistance with a defect in insulin secretion. Therefore, for DM2 to develop, both defects must exist. As a general rule all overweight individuals have insulin resistance, but only those with an inability to increase beta-cell production of insulin develop diabetes. The good news is that insulin resistance can be reversed if caught on time. Remember I said overweight, well if you are overweight, many studies have shown that a 10% decrease of total body weight causes insulin resistance to be diminished. So if you are 220lbs (100Kg), you must lose 22lbs (10Kg). I suggest that you see a physician and that certain test be done to determine if you are insulin resistant etc.

Well I hope this answers your question and I wish you the best of luck.

I am a type 2 diabetic and have been for over 10 years. I thought my daughter had diabetes because she was drinking a lot and peeing all the time. Even though those are symptems, I had her tested and she is not. You really need to be tested. I have been on insulin for 7 years and I started taking a nutritional supplement and have been able to bring my sugars down to the normal range. Which means not peeing, drinking, and feeling tired. I am so excited. I finally have energy and not feeling so bad. Anyone interested I will be happy to share!

Please DO NOT try to treat a disease that has not been diagnosed properly yet, and may not exist in your body. Start by seeing a doctor, telling him/her of your concerns, and getting blood tests for glucose (sugar) levels. IF you should every get an accurate diagnosis of diabetes, know that it can be adequately treated to result in a long, healthy life with continued care of your healthy ways.

If you get Diabetes then you cant get rid if it, even if your just starting to get it you cant stop it. If its type 1 then you cant get rid, type 2 just maybe. Go see a doctor and ask him what type you mught have, or have a blood sample took to see if you have diabetes.

Good luck~

Diabetes often goes undiagnosed because many of its symptoms seem so harmless. Recent studies indicate that the early detection of diabetes symptoms and treatment can decrease the chance of developing the complications of diabetes.

Some diabetes symptoms include:
Frequent urination
Excessive thirst
Extreme hunger
Unusual weight loss
Increased fatigue
Irritability
Blurry vision
If you have one or more of these diabetes symptoms, see your doctor right away and have your fasting blood glucose tested.

High levels of glucose most frequently indicate diabetes, The following information summarizes the meaning of the test results.

From 70 to 99 mg/dL (3.9 to 5.5 mmol/L) Normal fasting glucose

From 100 to 125 mg/dL (5.6 to 6.9 mmol/L) Impaired fasting glucose (pre-diabetes)

126 mg/dL (7.0 mmol/L) and above on more than one testing occasion Diabetes

If some one diagnosed with type 2 diabetes it can be reversed. For more on diabetes visit my free website

I wouldnt get your hopes up for a pancreas transplant just yet!!!

You seem to have the symptoms. Some people control diabetes through diet well, but for some they still need medication.

That really depends on each individual.
