Ive been feeling lightheaded can that be a sign of diabetes?

ive been feeling really dizzy and lightheaded at times can that be a sign or diabetes

Dizziness/lightheadedness is so tricky. If you look on a medical website you will see it listed as a symptom of dozens of conditions, some serious and many not. It could be anything from being related to blood pressure to just the summer heat. If you are worried, talk to your doctor because he/she can ask you questions that will help pinpoint what is causing it. It matters when you get lightheaded, whether the room spins, whether you have a headache, when you last ate...there are many factors to dizziness and it could be anything.

Lightheadedness or faintness are common complaints when a patient is experiencing untreated diabetes, but it is not the keystone symptom.

Please visit a doctor in order to discuss how you've been feeling, because lightheadedness is a symptom common to a multitude of problems, some serious and some easily treatable.

If you are experiencing any of these issues, you are probably experiencing untreated diabetes, in which case - go to the emergency room IMMEDIATELY! Hyperglycemia, or high blood sugar, can cause long-term damage to the body, and places you at risk for coma and death.

Frequent urination
Excessive thirst
Extreme hunger
Unusual weight loss
Increased fatigue
Irritability
Blurry vision

If you've been having any of these problems, see a doctor right away!

I hope you feel better, and good luck!

No, not really. Could you be anemic? Check with your doc to see if you're getting enough iron, or maybe you have low blood pressure.

A sign of hypoglycemia, perhaps (low blood sugar). Have a blood test.
