What after care treatment after i have been diagnosed for diabetes?

i am 60+ i have BP also and twice teated for heart problems

having both diabetes and hypertension increase your risk of developing another heart problem because your blood is more viscous and your blood vessels are narrower...
i suggest you stick to your prescribed diet (low fat, low sodium, not much on the simple sugars)...stop smoking and avoid alcoholic beverages...take your medications regularly and don't stop taking them abruptly because that may trigger a "rebound" effect...i know of a great supplement called cholestin...it lowers your blood cholesterol as effectively as a "statin" drug but it doesn't have bad effects like liver damage...exercise regularly and avoid being sedentary... also monitor your BP and blood glucose level regularly...
hope this helps! :)

You must follow a doctor's instructions, not just somebody else's advice. Generally, I would imagine you will be instructed to space your carbohydrate consumption out throughout the day (1 serving per meal), and will be cautioned to eat only the good carbs (whole grains, etc.) which are also supposed to be good for your heart. Regular exercise may be prescribed - meaning 3 to 5 times a week - but, again, because of your other conditions, you probably don't want to start an exercise program without talking to your doctor. Depending on the severity of your conditions, you may get medicine. If you are overweight, you may be counseled to reduce to a healthy level. Good luck.

I am 59 and have been diabetic for almost three years. I believe you are fortunate if you diabetes has not progress too far. Except for medication the treatment for diabetes work very well for high Blood Pressure. Moderate low carb diet with daily exercise. A daily long walk will for beginning exercise.

As for you medication follow your doctor's advice as well as the type of exercise you can part take in.

Best Wishes.

try walking dailing as an exercise, change lifestyle. i know its difficult if your a meat eater. just balance diet. 1 secret if you dont eat veggies, just swallow the soup then. and minimize alcohol AND mostly, avoid STRESS. What i do if i drink, i eat steam broccoli and steak without fats. thats a balance diet for a finger food.

Follow your doctors instructions
