I have gestational diabetes, and I need tips to lower fasting blood sugar.? |
I was diagnosed with GD about two weeks ago, and I have been really good at lowering my 2 hours post eating blood levels to under 120 - 2 hours after eating. But every morning my fasting levels are always at 130-140, and when you have GD they need to be below 95. Does anyone have any tips on what can lower that morning number. Gestational diabetes is a form of diabetes which affects pregnant women. It is believed that the hormones produced during pregnancy reduce a woman's receptivity to insulin, leading to high blood sugar levels. Gestational diabetes affects about 4% of all pregnant women. It is estimated that about 135,000 cases of gestational diabetes arise in the United States each year. Avoid eating to much before bedtime. Really the only thing you can do is keep track and tell your Dr.. You might need to go to shots, but don't be scared, it's not that big of a deal and there are very tiny needles now that you can hardly feel. If it goes that way. Good Luck. |
