Can a 50 yr old adult male in avg health, get diabetes by eating sugar and foods that are high in carbohydrate |
if there are no signs of it beforehand and no indications that he has it, can either of those two things precipitate or bring it on? with absolutely avg blood sugar levels No. Eating sugar and carbs will NOT bring on diabetes. Neither will being overweight. Both types of diabetes are caused by the pancreas not working properly. Eating too much sugar and carbs can cause you to gain weight. Eating sugary foods or high carb foods does not cause Type 2 diabetes. Neither does it precipitate it, or bring it on. If you eat a healthy diet, get exercise, watch your alcohol consumption. and are not overweight you can stop worrying. If there is a family predisposition towards diabetes then you may get it (you also may not). It is worth having a check at the doctors every couple of years or so the same as checking your blood pressure and cholesterol. Eating sugars or high carbohydrate foods does NOT cause diabetes in anyone!! |
