Is the sugar glucose test for gestational diabetes safe ? |
I'm asking because I was ordered the 100gram sugar test to be done, but I'm a little worried because even when I have a SMALL amount of sugar 20g or less I get really tired and almost pass out, this has just been recently. Should I ask my doctor if they can do the 50gram sugar test instead? I just dont want to be passing out /falling asleep when getting this test done and the way I feel after eating sugar thats a real possiblity if I get the 100g test. any advice? Consult with your doctor immediately and express your concerns. I didn't know if there was a 50 gr test. Does this mean, you are hypoglycemic or diabetic. They need to do the test if you have problems. You need to know. I am on my fourth pregnancy and have never chosen to do the test. It is a choice. Usually you would have sugar or protein in your urine. Since your doctor deemed the test essential to diagnosing whatever it is that's going on, absolutely, you need to get it. |
