I have type 1 diabetes?

i have type 1 diabetes and i was wondering wat i could do 2 help keep my blood sugar down?

eat a healthy diet and more exercise more

First, good for you for having the wisdom to ask this question! Are you newly diagnosed? It really helps to get as much information as you can from a pediatric endocrinologist (a doc specializing in this area) and a dietitian who can work on a food plan you can live with. You can also check out the jdf website. It has all kinds of helpful information and also chat rooms to talk about issues with other diabetics. Like anyone, Type 1 diabetics have a hard time changing eating habits, but eating healthy foods, counting carbs (which I know is a pain), checking your blood sugar when you're supposed to, taking the proper insulin doses at the same times each day, and regular exercise will all help you control your blood sugar levels. I wish you luck and never be afraid to ask questions.

learn carb counting and do it very carefully.

when you learn how many units of insulin you need to take care of how many grams of carbohydrates, you will be able to keep really tight control of your diabetes and glucose numbers.

and you also have to learn how to treat yourself nicely!!
