Diabetes...whats it like to live with? |
How long can one expect to live if it is controlled? Does anyone know anyone who has lived with it for a long time? Please share your experiences. Well its pretty normal, except you meet TONS and TONS of hot diabetic guys! You can live a life time, have kids, pay taxes just like people without it. My Great Grandmother had diabetes and was 89 when she passed, I have type 1 and have had it for 16 years and am fine, except when i was younger i had some hard time controlling it, my humoglobin a1c level was like 16.5 once!!! now its around 8.5 getting better but its still kind of a struggle It's pretty damn cool. I makes me feel more unique (huzzah for type one!). The near death experiences have been quite interesting as well. If a person with diabetes takes care of themselves as soon as they find out they are diagnosed then they should live a pretty normal healthy long life. To do this though, you have to keep your blood sugars regulated and exercise and eat right all the time. hi,when you controled your blood shuger you can live normal and there are not problem or worry for it ,diabetic person can live until end of life time,i know very person with diabet even progresed diabet and they had normal life. I invite you to visit my blog site and read my story. I am 59, diabetic for 20 months. Starting HbA1C 12.1 with daily finger prick tests of 600+. Now my last HbA1C was 5.5 and daily finger prick tests are 110/85. http://www.dlife.com/ has a lot of stories of people living with diabetes for a very very long life. |
