Is vision loss associated with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes?

Is vision loss associated with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes?

Both. Here's what happens. If your blood sugar level is high, that means the sugar is outside of the cell walls instead of inside. This causes the cells to be larger then they should be. They get blocked in the capillaries, causing it to fail. As the capillaries die, you loose the function of where ever it was located. In this case, you are talking about the eyes, though it could also be your toes, kidneys, heart, etc.
