Has anyone ever heard of a reversal of type 1 diabetes in a person? Are there any documented cases ? .NO, There are no reversals, no cures except for a pancreas transplant. Neither type 1 nor type 2 can be cured. They can be controlled by medications, diet and exercise. Some type 2's can control by diet and exercise alone for many years, but that is not a reversal, just good control. I have been a type 1 diabetic for going on 52 years and if there is a reversal I definitely have not heard of one and I sure would love to know if there is one! I believe there someday will be a cure but not in my lifetime. I am 61-been a diabetic since 9. Good luck to us all.
