Diabetes and Restless Leg Syndrome?

Are there any connections between undiagnosed diabetes and Restless Leg Syndrome?! i know that diabetes can cause nerve damage but can it make you get that creepy crawly feeling in your knees? i have never been diagnosed (gonna ask to get testes next dr app) but im also tired ALOT, drink alot of water or gatorade, have blurry vision, sometimes when i stand up everything goes black, have really really dry feet, my eye dr said i have high pressure in my eyes if that help at all (cause of the connection high eye pressure to glaucoma and glaucoma to diabetes) and headache almost daily...any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks

There is a very definite link between diabetes and restless leg syndrome. If diabetes gets worse, the restless leg will turn into very painful cramps.

But the first thing I see is that you drink a lot of gatorade. Gatorade has a LOT of sugar in it! So the first thing you need to do is STOP drinking colas, sports drinks, and energy drinks (Rock Star, etc) ALL of these have far too much sugar in them. You need good, clean, clear water (and not tea or coffee). If you NEED a cola, drink a diet cola, but no more than 2 cans a day. Use them as a reward for a job well done, instead of to quench your thirst.

The connection between glaucoma and diabetes is not all that common, but diabetes aggravates everything elee, so why not . . . .?

But diabetes can NOT be diagnosed by symptoms alone. There are many disease that have the same symptoms as diabetes. For example, tiredness, headaches, blurred vision, "blackouts" when standing -- all of those are also symptoms of hypoglycemia -- blood sugar is too low; the exact opposite of diabetes.

the ONLY way to diagnose diabetes is through blood tests at the doctors office.

You need to ask the doctor to do an A1C test. This test will tell you if your average blood sugars are LOW, NORMAL, or HIGH. If the A1C test is HIGH, the doctor can order more tests to determine absolutely if you are diabetic or not.

NOTE: If the doctor pricks your finger then take a drop of blood into a hand-held meter, that is NOT an A1C test! The A1C test needs a special piece of laboratory equipment (which many doctors have), but NOT a hand-held meter.
The "Finger Stick" and hand-held meter test is used to CONTROL your diabetes. Since the A1C test was invented, the "Finger Stick" test is no longer a good test for DIAGNOSING diabetes.

I am a flaming diabetic and I have all of the symptoms you named. I think you need to get a blood sugar test. Best of luck
and my restless leg issues are out of control ! Until your Dr. appt. drink ALOT of water.
