Do you know if diabetes curable

please site your source

It depends on your definition of "curable". Type one is currently only curable with a pancreas transplant. If your definition means controlling the disease without medication, then yes, type two is curable. I'm living proof that with proper diet and exercise, the disease can be reversed to the extent that one no longer needs any medication.

The notion that type two can be cured with gastric bypass surgery alone is completely false. Each and every successful patient underwent a complete lifestyle change including a low carb diet and plenty of regular exercise... A prerequisite to having the surgery done. Now, I ask you, if I can do it without surgery, why would anyone want to undergo the surgery with all of its risks and expense? Sounds like a scam on the part of the medical industry to me.

There has been some success with islets of langerhans transplantation for type one diabetes, but it is not a common treatment/surgery at this time.

Some type 2 diabetics have been taken off their meds because of diet/exercise/weight loss success in lowering their blood sugar to normal levels.

No, it isn't curable. Not at this time anyway. The scientists keep trying but so far, nothing has happened to make us think it is going to be curable soon. We can have bypass surgery if we are overweight, over 100 pounds, and we can adhere to a diet and combine it with exercise and that helps. But if you ever get heavy again, you get it again. Great strides have been made though in science and I hope everyone prays for a cure soon. I've had it nearly 39 years.

There have been experimental procedures where someone had a pancreas transplanted into their body. His diabetes went away, but he eventually died when his body rejected the organ.

Type 1 - -no

Type 2 - has been cured by gastric bypass surgery - within days of the surgery.
