How bad is type 1 diabetes? |
is it like really bad? Under control it isn't so bad...just lots of work getting and keeping control. Yes. My friend has it and she has to self-inject insulin and continuously monitor her blood sugar. She has to watch what she eats and anytime she feels dizzy she has to eat hard candy to get her blood sugar back up. Type 1 diabetes can lead to serious complications including blindness, deafness, sores, and even nerve pain. It is not an easy life. It can be bad if you don't manage it well. Under control it's not bad. I have it and from experiences I learned that if you are under control, if you check yourself at least four times a day and if you correct yourself with insulin every time it's needed then it's not bad. Lot's of people have diabetes if you live in the western world. However, it's not necessarily like that. In some other parts of the world it's not heard of at all. |
