I need help with my A1C for diabetes |
well im only 14 and the last time i checked my A1C was rele high. and i go back to the doctors next month. what can help me lower my A1C and have better numbers in my log? btw i play basketball and im very active. Following your diet and taking your insulin as directed by your doctor, for starters and make sure to test frequently so you can correct any highs or lows you have. Hope this Helps. It's not a test that you are trying to pass, it's a test to represent your true condition. After the doc sees your numbers, you should discuss with them how to get better numbers through nutritional means. They really push the medication with little discussion I have found. While I guess that's OK, you can get much better numbers through portion control and diet. As far as eating to lower your numbers, the A1C shows the glucose average over 3 ( some say 4 now ) months, so don't bother. If you're going to eat better, do it to stay well, not to get a low score on a test. Good luck. Just follow the diet that your doctor and/or nutritionist gave you, and take the correct amount of insulin. If you're active as you say, you should be fine. Lose the sugar. |
