Do I have diabetes and don't know it????????

I am always feeling dead tired even though I don't do anything. I get 8 hours of sleep every night but wake up feeling tired.

I gained about 80 pounds in the past 2 years due to non activity. Used to play basketball every week which kept my weight in check but stopped due to knee problem.

So could I Possibly have diabetes???????? I don't seem to have other diabetes symptoms though.

A fasting blood sugar test performed by a lab will determine if your diabetic, you should also have your thyroid tested, those symptoms match that condition.

It's possible but my guess is that the weight gain is because of the decrease in your activity levels and the tiredness is also due in part to that.

If you've a family history of diabetes do be checked soon as possible so you can get on right track to prevent problems later.

Here's a great site for diet tips plus a lot of other help with weight loss. Loads of tasty recipes to keep meal times from being boring and also teams of others who are just like you in many ways. All of you can work together to accomplish your goals of weight loss and healthy lifestyle changes.

Hope you can get some help here.

most people who find they are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, have probably had it for several years before they are diagnosed. Suggest that if you are concerned then you should see a doctor and get tested for it. The sooner you get a diagnosis and act on it, the less damage is likely to be done.
