Is diabetes classed as terminal illness No, a terminal illness is a condition that will end in death because there is no medication that can prevent it's progression. Terminal illnesses are generally cancers or malignant tumours. No diabetes itself is not percieved as terminal, however it can get worse if the condition is not treated, or if the severity of it is bad,for example there are different types of diabetes, type A etc... Terminal illness is a medical term popularized in the 20th century to describe an active and malignant disease that cannot be cured or adequately treated and that is reasonably expected to result in the death of the patient. This term is more commonly used for progressive diseases such as cancer or advanced heart disease than for trauma. No diabetes is not considered a terminal illness. It is a chronic illness that has no cure but is treatable. no~~ but it "can" eventually become a dibilitating diseaase if it gets bad. It affects your eye sight and circulation in most cases. Resulting in loss of sight, and loss of toes/ feet/legs.
