I drink alot of water and i still feel dehydrated my mouth feels dry ? do i have diabetes?

when i drink water like a glass i stil feel dehydrated well not fully but my mouth is dry , and like when i drink juice or something i have to add water cuz for some reason it tastes like it has 2 much sugar ... and sometimes i feel tired like drained at times like i could sleep for 8 hours but i will still be weak and stuff... i havent gone to da doctor yet...

if i do have diabetes can i drink liquor? like vodka and stuff

You could have type 1 diabetes, symptoms include

Being excessively thirsty

Passing more urine

Feeling tired and lethargic

Always feeling hungry

Having cuts that heal slowly

Itching, skin infections

Blurred vision

Unexplained weight loss

Mood swings

Headaches

Feeling dizzy

Leg cramps.

If you have any two or more of the above symptoms it is possible that you have type 1 diabetes.

Also when your thirsty try just taking small sips instead of gulping the water down, this way the water is more likley to be absorbed in your body and as a result you may notice you are less thirsty.

If the above symptoms persist though go see your doctor.

The uncontrolled blood glucose associated with new onset diabetes makes you pee a whole lot, which is why diabetics are very thirsty at first.

Do you take any medications? There are lots of prescription medications that have dry mouth as a side effect.

Also, just one glass of water isn't that much. They say that by the time you feel thirsty you are already dehydrated.

GO TO THE DOCTOR RIGHT NOW! Those are all symptoms of diabetes. It can come at any time at any age. If you have it and you let this go untreated you are going to be very ill very soon and could die.

Please go to the doctor and find out. My friend went though this last year and he was baffled for weeks as to why he was always thirsty and not so hungry. When he finally went the doctor sent him right to the ER to get his blood sugar under control. Please get yourself checked immediately.

there are many possibility's to your question. i drink allot of water as well. maybe go to your doctor to get a test done and if you got a family member who has diabetes than you chances are high. but just take in that sometimes this can relate to other problems, do you ea enough red meat? do you eat fruit and vegetables are you sure you don't miss out on important food Soucres and make sure your getting enough sleep at night. if its all no go get a test down at the doctors for diabetes.

You got a bunch of good answers and I just want to toss in my two pennies: You mention you like vodka and "stuff" - sure that dry mouth isn't a hang-over? Back in my drinking days, a big, big thirst for cold water and dry mouth was definitely one of my hang-over symptoms! Good luck however it turns out!
