Is there anyway to prevent Type A diabetes?

Diabetes runs in my family. My Dad, Uncle, and Cousin all have it. Type A. Is there anyway to prevent it?

Well, type 1 can't be prevented. It's an autoimmune thing so it's your immune system that screws up (in other words, destroys the cells of the pancreas).

Type 2 however can be prevented by just keeping healthy in general (ie. Avoiding high blood pressure, obesity and so on...)

Just because you have relatives with it doesn't necessarily mean it's inevitable for you. Don't worry :D
