I had salmonella two days ago and I have type one diabetes?

I ate some pistachios and I almost went to the hospital because I couldn't stand because of the pain in my stomach. About ten minutes ago I read that 2 million pounds of pistachios have been recalled for salmonella. I don't still feel sick, but is there any need for me to see my doctor to make sure it's gone? Or is it a one day, all done, no more issues thing? (I'm really worried!)

Thanks!

I also have a weakened immune system, but it's not that weakened.

Salmonella is usually self-limiting and doesn't require antibiotics or medical treatment unless it is severe. If you feel fine and don't have a fever you should be okay. Just continue to drink lots of fluids and stay hydrated

Also since you are diabetic make sure to check your blood sugars more frequently, if you are sick they could be elevated and might require more insulin

Everyone with type one diabetes is susceptible to illness which is why you say you have a "weakened immune system." If you had Salmonella and it were complicated by your diabetes, you'd most likely be in the hospital, care as we speak due to uncontrollable vomiting and diarrhea.. Salmonella can be life-threatening and is not something you overcome in two short days. That being said, I'm sure you are perfectly fine and that medical treatment is not necessary.

You seem OK now but do check with your doctor to be safe.

NO unless you have a fever, then go to the hospital ........Just let time pass.

Contact your doctor and have a phone consult.
