What is the latest news for curing diabetes?

I havnt seen much on the news about stuff like this... im just wonering if you may know?

A quick look at the latest treatment on Diabetes treatment and causes.

progress towards an "artificial pancreas" is moving along. the newest continuous glucose monitors are state of the art for diabetes management. these units are more accurate than ever (but not so much that they can replace blood sugar testing) and they can use radio frequency to transmit information.
Look at JDRF's web site to see what they are up to now, they are working on many fronts to find a cure.

Do some research about Sitagliptin and exenatide. They are both related to incretins (substances that stimulate pancreas to produce insulin) They are from what I have heard the most modern step of treatment. They do not replace insulin, but they can be used in the stage where older oral diabetes pills don't work too well anymore

not sure, but my doctor told me they're working on a little implant they put into your arm i think which monitors constantly how much insulin you neeed and distributes it, and you just go back every month or so to get it refilled, no need to check blood or inject anymore ! that'd be aweesome

I could be wrong, I think over here in Australia, scientists have done something or other to gene sequencing and type 1ers will be able to get a vaccination type thing in the next 5-10 years or so.

At the moment there is no cure for diabetes just treatment.
