Would a blood test for cholestrol also detect for diabetes?

blood cholesterol is linked to diabetes...but it is not diagnostic for diabetes..
as in diabetics the fat or cholesterol metabolism is also affected ...so diabetics need cholesterol tests to assess the complications of diabetes, if any.
diabetics need to take this test.this test is a follow up, regular check up test from time to time...to see that the diabetics don't develop any complications...just like ..eye examination, foot examination...etc...buttt..it is not to detect diabetes...
