Can figs & raisins be used as a diet for diabetes? Is it curative? Not too sure how figs and raisins would be all that great for you as both do contain a certain amount of natural sugar within them, and even though the sugar is natural you still need to watch you sugar levels. So, no I wouldn't go that route, of course incorporating them into your diet in small amounts say as a snack would not be that bad for you. Something that you might want to look into though, is something that dieticians are promoting more and more these days, and this is a pill that combines cinnamon and chromium. Another thing that you can try is beenpod tea, which also helps to lower blood sugar. Hope this information helps. Source(s): http://www.life-enhancement.com/article_... http://www.life-enhancement.com/le/artic... Why are you asking people on Yahoo? Check with physician. You don't have a diet for diabetes? I am a diabetic, type II. A diabetic can eat most anything, as long as you count the carbohydrates and do not go over the limit your doctor has put you on. Figs and raisins are sweet; I would check the amount of carbs for each. i am diabetic and would never eat figs/raisins as they are loaded with sugar. I don't know alot about diabetes, but I know that when fruit dries that the sugar is more concentrated. So it doesn't sound like it would be good...but I'm not a doctor. Figs and raisins contain fructose which is fruit sugar. PLEASE check with your doctor before starting such a diet. It could be very dangerous for you to eat so much sugar. |
