If i eat sugar right before getting tested for diabetes, would that increase my chances that i am diabetic? |
I am already overweight and my diet sucks and i don't excercise. So thats why they think i am diabetic already. For sure it will affect your test's outcome. You should be fasting from the night before the test. If you get a Tolerance test done, they will give you a drink of sugar water so that they can see how your body reacts to it. Either way, you are supposed to fast from the night before. Hopefully you aren't, then you could work on your health to hopefully prevent it. Good luck with everything. F It won't increase the chances, it will just mess up the test results. It could give you a false positive. Either way, you are asking for bad news with your current situation. If you want to avoid suffering from diabetic problems, you probably stand a good chance of avoiding the consequences if you act RIGHT NOW. I'll give you a head start on how to deal with it by sharing what I learned.... the hard way: http://www.geocities.com/seabulls69/type... The oldest and finest educational facility on the planet, www.theschoolofhardknocks.com Aka: Been there, done that, got the diploma. no you're just fat and lazy, welcome to America. http://www.diabetes.org/diabetes-symptom... the sugar will spike your blood sugar level so it will be high giving you the results you want to see and not own up to your own irresponsibility. Of course, there is always the Ebeneezer solution, better that he should die and decrease the excess population. But if you value life and what it has to offer get up off of your dead butt and choose to live. Well if you are not by now you will sure become if you do not change your habits and control your weight.... why would you want to test positive if you may not be? You should fast 10-12 hours prior to the blood work. But yes if you were to eat something sweet or high carb you # could be higher then if you fasted like you should. I just don't advise it. ...you could be developing type 2 diabetes if you are overweight..and do not exercise.. ....eating alot before a bloodtest is NOT recommended...typically they need "fasting" results..because..it is telling them what reallly is going on inside your body... eating a bunch of sugar would be .... not a good idea..it would prolly give a false reading and ..they would be all concerned about your sugar....and..you might not need treatment..anyhow JUST lose some weight..you will feel better and your blood sugar will be maintained.... |
