Will eating loads of chocolate at once give me diabetes?

Like eating one of them whole big blocks of chocolate at once. Thats what I did today and now im scared I might get it because my great grandmother had type 1. What are the symptoms of type 1 please?

There are 2 different types of diabetes, type 1 and type 2. Type 2 is when you live an unhealthy life style. Type 1 is when you can't help it. So, if you think you are going to get diabetes because you are unhealthy, then you probably are going to get type 2. Source(s): I am a type 1 diabetic, and perfectly healthy
no i dont think so, i think diabetes more often occurs because of genetics than eating habits. i may be wrong though. ask your doctor or someone who is a professional in this field
if it's the only time, no, but if you keep doing that...yes
and not just chocolate, everything sweet.
The symptoms of type 1 are extreme thirst, weight loss, frequent urinating, heavy fatigue and a feeling of not feeling well. This type does not come from eating sweets. It is a disease which usually skips a generation and passed down. If it is in your family then it is advisable to have yearly blood check-ups just to be sure that your sugar levels are normal. It is a myth that diabetes comes from eating sweets...not true at all. Good luck. Cherie
Type 1 runs in my family
you don't get diabetes from eating sweets or chocolate that's a myth
Diabetes is either inherited or you get it from being overweight

symptoms are thirst and excessive peeing
