What is the simplist explanation of the different kinds of diabetes? |
I know there is a type I and type II, but what is the difference? I have Type 1, but didn't discover it until I was 42. As I understand it, Type 1 means you are insulin-dependent. That is me. My pancreas simply doesn't produce insulin to usefully breakdown the sugar I intake. In Type 2, the pancreas produces insulin, but not in sufficient quantities. People with Type 2 can avoid insulin shots by taking pills and modifying their diet to reduc sugar intake. Of the two, Type 2 is better to have. Source(s): Personal experience. "My Doctor Says I Have A Little Diabetes" One is insulin dependent and the other is controlled with oral meds and or diet. Either way they're both Bad! there is a type 1 diabetes - basically your body cannot regulate sugar and insulin shots are required. This is a condition. type 2 has been brought on by diet and age (usually older overweight people have it) Diet can really help regulate this. Diabetes is what you have when your body is unable to process sugar, both the kind you eat, and the kind your body makes from food you eat. Some types can be controled by restricting your diet, some with oral meds, some need insulin injections several times a day. There is 2 types, (Diabetes Type I and II). Type I is when children develop diabetes and its usually genetic. Type II is developed mainly in adults that have a genetic gene for it, and/or certain health problems, like obesity. |
