How high is too high for blood sugar if you have type 2 diabetes?

How high is too high for blood sugar if you have type 2 diabetes?

This depends on when you are testing your blood glucose in relation to your meal schedule.

If you are diabetic and you have just eaten a substantial meal, check 2 hours after you finish. At this point in time, your sugar should be in the 140-180 range, which is OK for after a meal.

If you are fasting (meaning that you haven't eaten in at least 8-12 hours), you should obviously be around 100-110. You should also be around this level before meals.

Anything over 250 if a dangerous level and requires medical attention. Anything over 300 definitely deserves a trip to the ER. Of course, if you feel bad or have symptoms of a really high level (dizzy, dry mouth, shaky, etc.) then call your doctor.

110. Eat a lot of cinnamon. It lowered my sugar a great deal. I put it in everything.
Anything over 110 is out of the normal range. 70-110 is normal.

180's-230's is seriously dangerous, and anything consistent above that is likely renal failure.
normal sugars are between 4-7mmol. Above that is too high but above 12mmol is a worry.
4 - 7 is ok
anything over 110.
