Wanting to become a vegetarian. I am a 42 yr old male with diabetes and colitis. Suggestions on starting? |
I am a 42 yr old male with diabetes and colitis. My blood sugar is up and down. I really want to finally do the right thing and be healthy. With my colon problem I feel completeing getting away from meat and dairy is the only way. Can anyone help me with making the transition? Thanks Suggestions on becoming a vegetarian : Stop eating meat. Okay, I couldn't resist. Good luck I also have colitis and I have a very hard time eating a lot of veggies, while I can have all the diary and meat in the world. I've been told to stay away from stuff that flares up your system. Maybe you could also start a food diary to keep track of what you are eating. Also maybe you want to look for some books to help you. Rodale has some books that I'm thinkin of purchasing. One is Extraordinary Healing and the other one is Win the war within. Just an Idea. Hope this helps some. i wouldn't recommend changing your eating habits! It could make you body do pretty weird things like higher/lower blood pressure than normal or make your blood sugar go at an unsteady pace. You should consult with you doc before actually converting to veggie. Also when you body is used to a substance being eaten often it relies on that substance, being meat in your case, so PLEASE choose wisely |
