My 19mo. child has been very thirsty and soaked alot of diapers recently..diabetes? |
I checked her blood sugar level after not eatiing for about 6 hours it was137. Do I need to worry? She has been extremely thirsty but still eats all the time! It's to the point she used to sleep through the night but now she wakes us up for water 2 times a night and drinks a 12oz cup in minutes each time...Any advise? I would take her to the doctor. It sounds like diabetes. Normal Blood Sugars for an adult is 90-120. Good Luck. I'm not sure what a normal range for blood sugar is in an infant/child. If you're really worried, schedule an appt with your doc and ask to have some blood tests done. Are you giving her cow's milk? If so, you might want to read these before you give her one more drop of it: Milk facts: http://www.notmilk.com/d.html http://www.notmilk.com/tudrmac.html... http://www.rense.com/general63/ddia.htm... http://www.sciencenews.org/pages/sn_arc9... http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/... http://www.strongbones.org/ http://www.nature.com/ejcn/journal/v59/n... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query... Don't trust anyone's advice on something this important. Ask a doctor! I have never heard of diabetis in a infant/toddler .I have heard of juvenile diabetis but i thought that was in children in general , however I am not a medical doctor so please have your child seen by one a soon as possiable ..Is your child breath throught her mouth at night ? open mouth , stopped up nose , mouth dries causing thirsty child , however what ever the case is it still needs to be looked at by a medical doctor to make sure everything is okay , and if it isnt okay , the situation can be addressed so she can get the propper care she needs ..good luck I have juvenile diabetes (also known as type 1 diabetes) and but i got it when i was 13 but i have known have babies as young as 2 months old getting diabetes and if she's act as bad as you say, there's probably a good chance she may have diabetes, you should take her to the doc ASAP. type 1 diabetic |
