Has anyone heard of a transplant of eyelits to your pancreas to cure diabetes?

Yes, scientists have transplanted islet cells into people with diabetes sucessfully. However, they still have to take immuno-supressant drugs to make sure that they don't reject the islet cells, like with any transplant.
Doctors don't know how long people with type I diabetes will be able to keep the islet cells before they are destroyed by the body, but there is also talk of a diabetes vaccine/preventitive meausre. You can get more information from JDRF at http://www.jdrf.org. Look at their reaserch or news section.
Yes I have heard of it, a lady I know her 50 year old daughter had it done, but I dont think it cures diabetes, it did not for her, it just helps for, weakend pancreas
I think what you are talking about is islets, if so yes, that is why the ADA and JDRF and other diabetes organizations are pushing for the stem cell bill to pass in the government. It has cured successfully diabetes in mice.
