If you're going to get checked to see if you have it, then eat a regular diet and do everything you would normally do the day before you go in. Then do your recommended fast for bloodwork. Otherwise they won't get an accurate reading!
You should fast for 12 hours before that blood test.
Don't eat or drink anything after 9pm, but your doc probably told you that.
JUST GO TO THE DOCTORS!!!!!!!!
Do NOT eat a bunch of sugary stuff. That will give a false reading when they test your blood sugar. I would double check with your doctor before they test you because sometimes they will have you fast (not eat) so many hours before the test is done.
Fast for 10 to 12 hours. Take your medication like you normally do. You can have a little water, but don't over do it. Taking in no water for that long can shrink your veins and make it hard to get your blood.
I'm a phlebotomist.
