Have you ever used the "Scholl Gel Heel Pads" for heel pains related to Diabetes? Is it worth?

Does it fit in well in the shoes? Or gives a uncomfortable feel? Please help.

My husband (Type 1 Diabetic) was having problems with his heels when he played basketball so I got him the gel inserts and he thought they were great. Didn't have the pain anymore.
I'm not diabetic but I did use them when I was working in a retail pharmacy and had to constantly run around. The ones for the heel didn't work too well for me because they fit weird in my shoes, but the ones for the balls of the foot worked really well for a long time.
