What are your opinions on the rediculous claim that cow's milk will prevent diabetes?



I know a lot of people who drink milk and still have diabetes. The dairy industry also claims that dairy will help you lose weight. Milk tastes good but I still think the dairy industry wants to justify cows being slaved at factory farms.

Hi, Sarah. I presume you're talking about Type 2 diabetes, and there is no scientific evidence that cow's milk will prevent the onset.

If you are talking about Type 1 ("juvenile") diabetes, that is another story. Type 1 has a genetic component, but there is also a trigger that scientists have not identified. There are studies that support the fact that a protein in cow's milk may be the trigger for Type 1 diabetes. They are conducting a larger scale trial now to see if that is the case. you are right. It's a ridiculous claim if people drink milk and still have diabetes. It's actually a wild claim. Where did you hear it? on TV? in a magazine?
Its not true because diabetes is genetic disorder how could a cow milk fix a human gene!!
Actually cow's milk not preventing diabetes but is a quite good drink product for anyone, especially diabetes patient. About the milk, it is not easy to digest and can help diabetes patient digest all the meal slower and prevent over absorb carbohydrate which can divert or convert to sugar into our blood. But of course there's some cow milk is can better than that which can or may help to control the patient blood sugar level, Cow Initial Milk! The First "Squeeze" Milk of the day is the best stuff milk for diabetes patient.

Please take note, milk not cure or prevent! Just supply better nutrition, like acid amino. Of course appropriate amount is apply to, not means that diabetes patient can take how much they like!
It sounds like you have issues with milk in general. Actually, milk can help the body burn blood sugar more slowly.
