Mature Onset Diabetes of the Young (basically type 2 in a young, non obese person.) It's a specific genetic mutation that gives insuklin resistance and thus diabetes. The important opart is that it is specifically genetic as opposed to obesity or diet/excercise related. Source(s): diabetic doctor
