How do i treat the tingling feelings im getting on my hands and feet from diabetes? The tingling in your extremities could be caused from Diabetic Neuropathy. There are meds that can help control this. One very common one is Gabapentin or Neurontin. Your problem could also be caused from poor circulation. Go to your doctor and explain to him your symptoms, together you and your doctor can work out a plan. Go to the doctor. it is diabetic neuropathy, see your doc, he may refer you to a nuerologist. Well, I think it's all controlled by your sugar intake. If you have a bit of sugar before it occurs, try not having any for a while. I had to learn this; my mom has it. Easy one this! Have your hands and feet amputated. Ask your doctor. There are medications like Neurontin for this. First, you should be examined by a physician. The symptoms you are getting are most likely due to peripheral neuropathy, a disease of the nerves in the extremities caused by uncontrolled levels of sugar in your blood. The primary treatment for this is to get your blood sugar level controlled by appropriate medications and insulin if required. However, the symptoms can be ameliorated by mainly two classes of drugs. The first class is called tricyclic antidepressants. They are quite effective but they have a number of adverse effects which might be actually more distressing than the tingling itself. The second class includes a drug called gabapentin. If you do not have any problem with your kidneys and have no significant allergies to drugs, you can take gabapentin 300 mg orally two times a day to begin with. This dose is gradually increased to control the tingling. The most important thing for you is to get a comprehensive medical checkup because diabetes can affect many other parts of your body. |
