I haven't eaten in a few hours and i am really shaky. could this be diabetes?

I have family history of diabetes, but my numbers have always been fine, including a recent test a few weeks ago. Should I be concered?

It could be Hypoglycemia. You should keep snacks on hand for when you get the shakes (when you're hypoglycemic). As long as you get tested and you don't have diabetes, I wouldn't worry too much. You just need to understand your body and when you haven't eaten and get the shakes, that probably means you need to eat. Source(s): http://www.emedicinehealth.com/low_blood...
No. Everyone's blood sugar drops without adequate hydration and nutrition. Hey, it's what keeps us aliveeeeeeeeeee.
It does sound like low blood sugar, but if you are not taking medication and you are diabetic, I'd suspect that you'd have higher rather than lower blood sugars. There are other reasons to become hypoglycemic (low sugars), though, and it is worth checking with your doctor.
Alot of people get shaky when they don't eat for a while, but i would go to the doctor to sure, esp since it' s in your family.
Eat to live By Dr Joel Fuhrman is a great book . If you have type 2 diabetes this book will tell you how to cure it with a proper diet. www.drfuhrman.com
You could be hypoglycemic. Which is the opposite of diabetic but could lead to diabetes if left untreated. There is no medication to take you just have to make sure that you are eating at least three meals a day and snack a little in between. Try to stay away from high carb meals because it tends to make it worse the next day. When you feel shaky try eating some candy or drinking a soda it will usually make you blood sugar level out.
