My sister is 10 years old and weighs around 150 pounds. Will she get type 2 diabetes?

Will my sister get type 2 Diabetes if she does not slim dowm?

There's no way to say with certainty if she'll develop diabetes or not, but being overweight is certainly a huge risk factor. The best thing you and your family can do for your sister is help her to develop healthy eating and exercise habits. This is also something to ask her doctor about at her next appointment and get some advice.
There is a good chance but probably when she is older. People with obesity usually end up getting things like heart failure, hypertension, swelling in the arms and legs and also diabetes. It can become a serious situation.
Yes, not to mention all the health related ailments such as heart disease, high cholesterol and high blood pressure, and the pressure on her joints from her added weight which will eventually start giving her problems. The little boy I take care is only eight years old, and he was only 5 lbs overweight, and his cholesterol was out of range.
yes. because the more fat you are, your more prone to type 2 diabetes. It also depends on her diet and the sugar that her body contains
Ate Zara
i dont know but please help her to loose weight before the kids get meaner and she comes home crying everyday from school. Life is hard enough without being made fun of. She is to young to bbuy her own food. Trash the junk stuff and fill the fridge with fruits and vegys
Quite likely. She may have it already. Get regular blood tests for her and for God's sake, get her on a sugar free diet!
NOT ASPARTAME! that stuff is horrible for diabetics. Use Splenda.
God Bless and my best to you both.
