When doctors perform a "What is wrong with me" type blood test, do they test for diabetes?

For a while they thought I had Herpes because of a certain enzyme, but ruled that out. Would diabetes have been tested in a situation like this?

Your doctor should have checked for diabetes if you were sick and unsure why. Call him to check and it he didn't, ask him to please order more bloodwork checking specifically for diabetes. Best wishes.
if you had several vials filled then you will have been checked for many different things
It definately should have been. Call your dr.'s office to be sure.
in general glucose levels are an indicative of pre-diabetes or diabetes. this is a common test in a blood test. if a doctor performed a full blood test this may include a ketone levels test. if so, this in combination with your glucose levels may indicate your are diabetic (or hopefully not).
