If I can no longer afford metformin, is there a way to control blood sugar for diabetes? Exercise is the best substitute for Metformin.Metformin increases the insulin(already existing in your body)to go into cells .Metformin does not stimulate production of insulin.Exercise also facilitates insulin transmission into cells.Exercise is good for the body in several other ways.Even if you do not lose weight, exercise improves insulin utilisation.Advice to all diabetics--Try diet and exercise first.Drugs only if diet and exercise fail. I would suggest that you call the pharmaceutical company and tell them you can't afford their product anymore. They may just give it to you....it's been done before... there is diet and exercise but diabetes is one disease you don't want to play around with if you cannot afford the medication i recommend talking to your doctor there are many programs out there to help with the cost of medications Canada is a opcion,or maybe cactus pills from Mexico, check the web u have to try to continue your physicians prescription. Changing medication by yourself might be harmful. there are others drugs for diabetes, but they have to be used carefully and only by your physician. exercising after meals is just a part of the treatment but it does not sustitute metformin. There is a book called the mangostteen desk reference by Dr Kenneth Finsand. He talks about diabetis in there, and has some suggessdtions. Is yours type one or two? And let me know if you have herad of xanthons MANGOSTEEN DESK REF PAGE 104 |
