What is the normal blood sugar level, and what is the level to be considered to have diabetes????? The general rule is if you haven't fasted normal is considered to be less than 100mg/dL anything from 100-199mg/dL is considered prediabetes anything over 200mg/dL is considered diabetes. However if you have fasted for at least 8 hours the normal range is from 70 - 100mg/dL, between 100 - 125mg/dL is considered prediabetes. Anything over 126mb/dL is considered dibetes. fasting blood sugar should be between 90-110 and 1 hour post meal blood suger ushould be under 130. 80 to 120. It's when your blood sugar is high, like over 200. But you need to have tests done to confirm the diagnosis for diabetes. normal depends on when you last ate! fasting blood sugars are the way to check (that means you've not eaten or drank anything other then water for at least 8 hours). The newest reccomendation is that your fasting sugar must be 100 or under (it use to be 126 but the just lowered it). Anything above that on 3 seperate occasions is 'diabetic' it is depending on ur wieght if ur fat your blood sugar is high but is just normal for them if your thin and your blood sugar is high..... try to consult your doctor normal blood sugar is 90 - 110 i am a diabetic every one is different my ideal goal is 85-120 any lower i get real shakey too high and i get real edgey and grumpy. if you are worried about it talk to your doctor and be checked good luck |
