What are the benefits of ACE Inhibitors and Angiotensin 11 receptor blockers on patients with type 1 diabetes?

They lower the blood pressure and prevent diabetes kidney disease
There is a new drug coming on the market that will stop the secretion of renin (a precursor to ang II) called Rasilez. I think this will be a great drug for diabetics. The hypertension drugs that diabetics should stay away from are the beta blockers.
