You need to consult your doctor so that he can order further testing. You should be between 60-110. Was the 150 blood sugar a fasting blood sugar? (no food for at least 8hrs prior to taking the blood sugar) How long did you wait after you ate before testing. FASTING suger must NOT be greater than 140. between 140 to 180 is borderline diabetes. blood suger 2 hours after eating must be below 180 good luck Are you on Insulin? Was this high reading after breakfast, lunch, or Dinner? Are you on a ""Sliding Scale""? This means were you told by your Doctor how to increase your Insulin to cover the High Readings? I am a Diabetic on four injections of Insulin a day. Each injection of Insulin last about five hours. If my blood sugar goes high after lunch, Insulin is still in my body from the lunch time injection, I know that by Dinner Time, my blood glucose readings will be back to normal. If not I will increase the Insulin in my Dinner time injection. My fourth injection is at bed time and covers me while I sleep. Your Doctor should be able to guide you through these trying times. Good Luck. what type of melds are you on did you forget to take them, the serving sizes could made your number go up what type of foods did you have at this meal be careful with the serving sizes of rice potatoes dried fruit and regular pop/soft drinks these thing also make my 150 something pre meal sugar shot up real quick my main problem is forgetting to take my insulin shots or pills (I'm no longer on pills) |
