My mother-in-law complains about a "salty taste" in her mouth. Could this be for her dental work? Diabetes?

For some time my mother-in-law has complained about a salty taste in her mouth. She has had her dental work re-done, but nothing has helped. She is also a diabetic. Any help?

~~~I have heard that always a salty taste is signs of being diabetic,,,,has she been to her Dr recently,,,,is she taking the proper medication??
is she losing weight?
normal for weight loss.
Get your mother in law to have a throat swab could be an infection or something more serious also have her blood sugars tested they could be a little high
Several medications alter taste sensation or create tastes of their own.
High blood sugars would cause a fruity (banana) or alchol-like taste.
If she has any silver fillings, one of them may have a leak. Thats usually what it tastes like, salty or metal. Her Dentist should check them, if any
dental assistant
she might have a case of what known as dry mouth or it could be from the meds she takes she should check with her dr. being a diabetic is no joking matter,she ha to be very careful
