What causes blood-pressure to be sky high and bottom out low in the same day? No sugar diabetes is detected i |
Taking only 1/2 dose of hi blood med. and it drops to point they want to admit in hospital As pointed out, blood pressure varies throughout the day. However, it sounds like your swings are severe, and impact your functioning. This is NOT normal. I suggest you have your doctor test you for other hormonal disorders (check your adrenal, thyroid levels, etc.), check your electrolyte levels, and check neurological functioning (i.e. baroreflex functioning) as well. There are other possible causes. Is it possible you may also have an anxiety disorder? This, combined with unneeded BP meds could cause temp. high and low swings. I suggest you go ahead with the hospital stay. Good luck! P.S. Swings in blood sugar CAN affect blood pressure levels, as stress hormones are usually released in response to low or fluctuating BG's. BP has nothing to do with diabetes. I had a BP of 190/90 one morning and at supper it was 120/70. I only had a good bowel movement between. BP can be tricky and effected by quite a few things. your B.P alters all the time during the day after meals, exercise, even at times of stress if it drops too low you will know it because you will feel faint and might even collapse if you are on blood pressure medication you should see your doctor also it really is not a good idea to get too worked up if taking your own blood pressure reading most people get it wrong and read too much into it result it goes sky high |
