If you are pregnant and diabetes runs in your family, it is possible and a bit scary. I went through that situation with my first born.

I was lucky, it started late in the pregnancy so it didn't affect my unborn child. Watched what I ate, and exercised a lot! In the end it was all good! I didn't have to go on meds and all that exercise helped make the delivery much easier than it would have been.

I'm glad to hear you are going to a specialist, you will get better care for you and the baby. Gestational diabetes can develop during pregnancy and disappear after the child is born. Care needs to be taken because of the high levels of sugar in the mother's blood and can affect the unborn child.
I don't know. Why don't you go to the specialist. They'll tell you if you do or not.
If you are pregnant, then yes. It should resolve following your delivery, but people with gestatoional diabetes are at greater risk of developing Type II diabetes mellitus later on in life. It is best to be proactive in your diet & exercise routines now, then to risk it.
VERY important that you go to the specialist.....I failed mine when I was pregnant,just make sure you change your diet to keep things under control.
i had that when pregnant with my first child and its nothing to worry about as it goes back to normal after the baby is born may take a little while but not a long time, dont worry
Are you pregnant? If you are, did you originally have a one hour test done first? Most likely though, yes it is gestational diabetes. Don't worry though, it subsides after you deliver.
