I have low sugar, i ate a piece of cake and checked my sugar it was 245 is that a sign of diabetes? If you don't have diabetes your blood sugar should NEVER be 245. You need to go to the doctor and have a fasting glucose blood test done. AGAIN --- your blood sugar should NEVER be 245 if you aren't diabetic there is something wrong. Did you use someone elses meter? Why were you testing up? What do you mean you have low blood sugar, did you already know you might have diabetes? Please go see your doctor if you really did have a level of 245 and aren't already a diagnosed diabetic. EDIT- I have eaten sweets drank a regular soda and then tested up on my husbands meter and was never over 120. We were seeing how long it took me to get to my fasting levels of around 85. Source(s): Courtney Mommy of Two Married to a Type I diabetics Related to 3 Type II diabetics Extensively researched in the area of Diabetes Your sugar should return to normal (70-110) 2 hours after eating. Without knowing how long between the cake and the sugar I can't really say, but try testing yourself before a meal and then two hours after. YES Yes. Normal blood sugar levels are 110 and under. how long after you ate it was it that high? did it come right down? a piece of cake will flood your blood with sugar, and everyone's body needs at least a little while to adapt to that. it's more of a matter of if it took your body longer to adapt to know if it's really diabetes. You don't have low blood sugar if you sugar was 245. |
