Diabetes? Do you think I could have it?

I am in my 40's, the correct weight, I exercise 5 days a week for an hour, dont eat sweets at all but I wake up most mornings with a headache, drink water through the night and a lot during the day as Im thirsty, get weak and clammy if I dont eat regularly, am always hungry? I dont want to bother my doctor if I am imagining it. Thanks.

Go and see your gp, yep they get paid to be bothered. You are in the "high risk" time for aged onset diabetes, this is normally picked up in a general health check up it is the most often missed thing as we get older We think, oh I am getting older so of course it affects my eyes, my weight, my ability with physical activities even your libido. It is a simple blood test, it could mean that you may need to adjust your diet or take tablets or at worse use insulin injections. Whatever happens you will feel happier to have had it checked out. Believe me I have diabetes and it can manifest itself in many ways.
Bother your doctor. diabetes can be diagnosed with a simple blood test.
Left unattended or ignored, diabetes can kill you.
Your symptoms could be from a number of things. More important than that, however, is that you suspect that you might have a problem, and you're worried about "bothering" your doctor? He/she is PAID to be bothered; if you feel you're "bothering" your doctor when you have a concern, it's time to get a new doctor!!

I say go and get checked out - it can't do any harm, and you might uncover a problem early.

Good luck!

Edit: I can't wait to see miss "Peach Pie" up there when she gets to be "your age" ;-) I bet she won't state it like THAT, will she???
Me - 52 and goin' strong :-)
hmm sounds like you might be pregnant?

Sorry my magic medical wond doesnt work through the net.

Safest bet would be to talk to your doctor about it, or ring up a nurse. Theres also shops that will do blood sugar tests for you if you ask. You might want to check it out there if you dont want to see a doctor
Your doctor is there to provide you with good medical care, and will be able to put your concerns in regards to Diabetes to rest by a simple blood test. You place yourself more at risk by not bringing your concerns to your family physician. Early detection will benefit more by addressing it sooner, rather than having more complications to your health by ignoring them. Therefore make an appointment, and get informed. Good luck!
an hour is not extreme at all. i would definitely follow up with your doctor. the symptoms u are experiencing could be one of many things (diabetes, thyroid disease, hormonal issue). only your doctor can do the appropriate tests to determine what's going on.
