So...DIABETES? |
so, my dermatologist said i might have diabetes. what should i do to prevent it? wat should i do if i have it? i am 13 years old. your dermatologist thinks you might be diabetic, mmm get a new dermatologist !!! Surely if a doctor thought you were diabetic you would be checked out straight away, by a blood test, this clown shouldn't have said something like that and then just let you go home to worry about it, what a quack !!! If you have any of the syptomes of diabeties see your doctor, not your dermatologist, and ask for a check to be done. there is no prevention, if your gonna get it then you'll get it ! Diabetes is persistently elevated sugar levels in the blood. This is how it is caused. The brain gets abt 85% of its energy from water. This is the reason why the brain is immersed in a fluid called cerebrospinal fluid. When there is shortage of water in the body thru lack of water intake or thru taking in substances that cause dehydration like diuretics (drugs that make U urinate), sodas, coffee, tea, chocolates and alcoholic beverages, the brain will run short of energy source and so will resort to other sources of which sugar or glucose is tapped. The brain is the only organ that cld take up glucose without the need for insulin. The brain will then prevent the pancreas from releasing insulin. This will prevent other tissues from utilizing glucose and so bld levels of glucose rises causing the disease called diabetes. Thru this condition, the brain will have enough glucose as its energy source. The brain is the most vital organ of the human body and when it comes to conditions requiring survivial, it always gets priority as to both oxygen and nutrient supply. So to correct diabetes, one must provide the body sufficient amts of water, its prime energy source...not just any fluid that does not function as water does. The best way is to take 16 ounces of water upon waking up in the morning, and also at bedtime, 8 ounces half hr before meals and also 2 and a half hrs after meals and 8 ounces every time urine is passed. For a more efficient way to hydrate, add 1/4 tsp sea salt to every quart of water taken. Salt holds water and so does it also in the body. When swelling in the feet occurs, stop salt for 2-3 days and resume it when swelling subsides. The above volume is enough for ur age. Bigger individuals will require more. No drug wld cure diabetes because diabetes is a disease caused by dehydration where the cause is water shortage. Avoid coffee, sodas, tea, chocolates and alcoholic beverages because they will worsen ur condition. Hope this helps. After fasting overnight, have your blood glucose checked before eating anything in the morning. A regional clinic or hospital might offer diabetes screenings. If not, a local drugstore should sell a blood glucose test kit. http://www.diabetes.org/pre-diabetes/pre... Diet Guidelines http://www.diabetes911.net/readit/chapte... Blood Sugar Management http://www.dlife.com/dlife/do/showconten... Wal-Mart Testing Supplies http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d... it depends what kind of diabetes it is. because you're young i would tend to think type 1 but type 2 is becoming more and more prevalent in young people these days so it could be either. to know for certain you need to visit your primary care physician and get tested. the test will tell you if you are or not and will even tell you if you're borderline. type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease so the only cure is taking insulin shots. type2 can be cured by exercising regularly and eating a more nutritious diet thats low in processed sugars and refined carbohydrates. you should replace these with natural sugars (from fruit/honey) and complex carbohydrates (whole grain/ whole wheat products) Have your regular doctor speak with your dermatologist and arrange for the testing that needs to be done. Dermatologist? You should get the right professional to diagnose if you have diabetes or not. Also, it is important to find out if you are Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. Knowing which particular type of diabetes can help you in seeking the appropriate treatment and care. From your age, if you do have diabetes, it would seem like it is Type 1. But then again, more and more young people are getting type 2 diabetes....so you would never know. Do your parents know about this? You should get an adult to accompany you to see a doctor. This is the first step that you should take. http://www.diabetes-treatment-research.c... |
