I have had a history of dermatitis and eczema, especially on my body. This happens all the time. My heels are dry and cracked and then a crack gets very deep and bleeds, becomes infected and it takes forever to heal. I get moderate exercise, nothing crazy. What should I do?
Sounds painful :( I would make sure you're putting an antibiotic cream on the area like neosporin or bacitracin and keep the area covered in a bandage (or guaze if the area is too large for a band-aid) while you have shoes on. When you get home, make sure you take it off and let the wound get some air. Seems like this one is just going to take some time. Once the wound has healed...there is a product called Kerasol that is in the foot aisle and it works GREAT for dry, cracked feet. It's very oily..so when you put in on don't plan to get up for a while until it's all soaked in. You can even put in on your feet and buy those cotton footies to put on and use it before bed. Hope you're better soon.... |
