Anyone out there have diabetes and hypoglycemia ?

I have been diagnosed with both, the class 2 diabetes and hypoglycemia and if my blood sugar gets too low I first get VERY cross and then an after adrenalin semi-paralysis thing, I begin to sweat, mostly feel like dieing and have to urinate very badly. The doctors can not explain the radical increased urine and I am forced to eat too much inorder to avoid those horrible episodes. Any help?

Diabetic hypoglycemia, as you correctly stated, causes the body to increase production of adrenaline. (Adrenaline will raise blood sugar for a short period of time- it's the body trying to "save itself" from the hypoglycemia).

Unfortunately, the adrenaline produced flows throughout the ENTIRE body. When it gets to the skin, it opens the pores and you sweat badly, when it gets to the bladder nerves, it stimulates the bladder and makes you want to urinate.
In other words, it starts the "fight or flight" response of someone under severe stress.

In your case (and mine), it affects so many body systems and organs (even the brain), that you are experiencing severe anxiety symptoms (called a panic attack), it seems, everytime your blood sugar goes down. What clues me in to this is that you feel like you are going to die. That, along with a few of your other symptoms, constitute an anxiety disorder or panic attack during low blood sugar episodes.

My solution was to get treated for the anxiety disorder so when I get hypogycemia, I can deal with the low blood sugar without "those horrible episodes".

The ideal solution is to not go into hypoglycermia ever (impossible for any diabetic on the planet)
OR check with your doctor. A small dose of an SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor)-may be helpful in keeping the anxiety reaction down.

Panic symptoms are common in diabetics because of their very active adrenal systems. Don't feel that you are the only person that goes through this...you are not alone. Source(s): Personal experience with diabetes for 40 years. Personal experience with hypoglycermic-induced panic episodes for the last 17 of the 40 years.
Eat smaller more frequent meals. I changed to 7 meals a day and haven't had a hypoglycemic issue since.
my daughter has type 1 and she has to stick to a health diet, if her bloods go low then high she has very bad mood swings
try and have a fizz drink rather than chocolate as the fizzy drink will help straight away as the chocolate takes time to kick in your feelings will be to do with the hypo your diabetes team should be doing more to try and control your blood sugar levels
Hope this helps
