Diabetes and low-carb breads. The best one? |
I have diabetes 2 and must eat low-carb foods. What whole grain bread is the best? All my low-carb breads are fat free and 0 grams of sugar. There is bread from Viva Low-Carb - 0 grams of carbs. Aunt Hatties whole grain bread at 5/6 carbs and Chompies cinnamon raisin bread at 1 gram of carb (5 grams of fiber), Chompies Multigran - 2 grams of carbs and Chompies plain bread with 2 grams of carbs. None of these breads contain any sugar. I am trying to lose weight and was wondering if there are any ingredients in these breads that would be bad for me in trying to lose weight. I believe that the 100 whole grain wheat bread is NOT as good as the multi-grain bread. I am trying to diet with low-carb foods and find these low-carb breads helpful. I eat a lot of sandwiches with 0-carb meat and mustard. I am not losing weight too quickly here and was wondering if I am eating the right bread. Which one is the best? Pumpernickel is the best and whole wheat is the worse. I just read this some place today. Oroweat 100% Whole Wheat Light. 7g net carbs per slice (after subtracting fiber) and 40 calories. I get it in the bread section of my local supermarket. It only has enough sugar to activate the yeast, nothing extra. the breads you are eating seems fine but I think it best to limit even this much whole grain or multigrain and sandwhiches are not the best way to loose weight. also some diabetes medications if you take any makes weight loss harder or slower but in all research weight taken off grafually is more likely to stay off so do not give up. also as being a fellow diabetic I wish you to know well balanced meals with the fruits and veggies will in the long run benifit you more along with exercise. there are several dietitions that can help you with proper food intake per meal and even help with sample meals to help you in this matter they are very good and take all health needs into condiseration i truely recommend them they are great and can help you with the best diet for you. panera had a pumpkin seed bread that I like. |
